Back To The Future Part 1 & 2 Scene Comparison

  1. As much as i love BTTF2 it still makes no sense. If Doc takes Marty and Jennifer into the future then they will have ceased to exist from that day forward. They couldn't of had kids or a future.

  2. I disagree. Once Doc went to the future he bypassed all those years in-between MAKING their last reach year 2015. He came BACK to 1985 to tell them what they have done in 2015. Much like Older biff came back from the future to 50's biff and set a new timeline, Doc was helping Jennifer and Marty set a new timeline for them.

  3. 2 reasons why its not possible.

    1) Ok, but he can't do that. If you disappear today and appear 20 years from now. 20 years from now you would have disappeared 20 years ago without a trace. The DeLorean does not take you to parallel universes or alternative realities. It travels back or forward.

    2) If you go by the movie and say that Doc and Marty left 1985 and appeared in 2015. Just by telling 1985 Marty about his future he changed it. Future Marty would know what 1985 Marty had been through because he would have to have been that Marty. Because in 2015 Present Day Marty had visited the future in 1985. Giving him all the knowledge of his past self.

The part that does make sense is going into the past to stop Biff from using the almanac.

It does not work with future to past as it does with past to future.

Bill and Ted handled time traveling slightly better. In the end on the 1st movie when they are about the fail their report. Bill and Ted come up with stealing Ted's dads keys. Earlier his dads keys were missing but only after they came up with the plan did they know that it was them.

  4. I have a large box with sand in it. The sandbox's sand is flat and untouched, I drag my stick from top left corner (A) to bottom right corner (B). The stick has traveled through time through conventional moment to moment, much like Jennifer and Marty getting married and having kids. They lived through time (A) and (B). You cannot change that. You can only set a new path. The evidence is there in the line. Let's say (A) is 1985 and (B) is 2015. Doc sees the future because he is at (B), he had just lifted the stick from (A) and stuck it in (B). He bypassed time to get there. By him being at point (B) He now established 2015 to be present day and no one can see further than that. He can easily travel along that original path with no problem because everything has been created already. When he returned to 1985 he displaced 1985's Jen and Marty to go to 2015.

Much like BTTF1 when Marty is holding a photograph of the future. How can a physical photograph of the future exist? Lives were only displaced for brief amounts of time but ultimately setting a new path. How can Jenifer have a fax that was printed in 2015?
How can the Almanac exist? Once Doc entered 2015 all the events of the world in between became the past. Like the line in the sand. You can't alter that you can only set a new path.

Only until Marty avoids the crash in BTTF3 does he wipe Future's slate. Everything else he had done from 1-3 up until that moment of the car crash was just time displacement of his life.
